Civvie is an electro-acoustic trio improvising on amplified bassoon (Alex Eastley), cello (Natanielle Felicitas), and weaving loom (Kelly Ruth). Formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Civvie creates arresting soundscapes, using extended techniques and digital effects to stretch the sonic possibilities of their instruments.

The variability of spontaneous compositions is captured on their debut album Inheritance (Independent, 2017). Inheritance entered the charts of local radio station CKUW at #9, holding its place in the top ten for three weeks. The dramatic experience of seeing Civvie live has their audience growing at every show.

They've performed at Sounds Like Festival (Saskatoon, 2017), opened for Venetian Snares & Daniel Lanois (July 2017), and the inaugural Bend Festival, opening for Merzbow (Winnipeg, May, 2018).

As their sound continues to evolve, Civvie plans to return to the studio in the near future.
